We specialize in providing excellent fitting, reasonably priced, hand-stitched Dutch and Anglo-Indian hoods for American Kestrels to eagles. Our five styles of gauntlets are made from deer, calf, and kangaroo leathers that are so comfortable you will want to sleep with them on! All are made in brown and forest green earth tones, the most popular and least frightening to raptors. Each gauntlet also comes with a free vial of non-toxic leather conditioner to rub into the leather to resist meat juices, rain, snow, and mud. We also personally hand-shape each hood beak opening for an almost instant good fit.

ABOUT US:

The owner, Brad Wood, has been a falconer, wildlife biologist and wildlife educator for over 55 years. From 1984 to 2016, he was the owner and operator of Northwoods Falconry, the world's first and best falconry equipment supplier. He continues to fly, hunt with, and breed Gyrfalcons and Peregrine Falcons, as well as conduct raptor education programs. He recently decided to start this online company, Valhalla Falcons, offering his favorite items: hoods, gauntlets, and a few miscellaneous raptor products. Why? He especially enjoys the earthy smell, feel, and craftsmanship of leather falconry products presented here. His favorite quote is, ‘A falconer can never have enough hoods and gauntlets!’
