Our Anglo-Indian Hoods are an excellent choice to use with all hawks and eagles due to the ‘wedge shape’ of their heads.They will also fit most large falcons.They are made on Tait style hood blocks to assure ample eye space and great fit.The one-piece stiff calf leather is first dyed dark brown then eye seams hand stitched. The Gortex cloth braces ensure smooth operation whether the hood is dry or wet. A thin leather strap is woven in and out around the chin area to stiffen the neck opening to hold its shape. A double Turks knot on the top finishes the hood to be easily held in one hand while putting it on the bird’s head.
Before each hood is shipped, we go the extra mile by hand molding the beak opening using warm water and a touch of leather grease.This final adjustment almost guarantees perfect fit right out of the box!
You can order and pay for two or more hoods and choose the one that fits the best and then return the others in perfect condition for a full refund.If ordering just one hood for your bird, keep in mind that you can effectively change the size of the hood up or down a size simply by further molding the beak opening by wetting it and using your fingers to change the opening.
